NZTA Hibiscus Coast Driving Test

This Driving Test Centre has been replaced by the Silverdale Driving Test Centre EXCEPT for theory tests which are still being conducted at this Orewa Test Centre.For practical driving test information, go to the Silverdale Test Centre page.
This is an overview of the driver testing area for Hibiscus Coast Region which Shore Driving School includes in its areas serviced for
those wanting to pass their Restricted and Full driving tests.
Orewa is a very popular test centre, if the numbers of people we find who book outside of their own districts is anything to go by.
There is a misconception about this region being an “Easy Pass” area and maybe this is why some people seem to book here rather then the closest driving test centre
to where they live.
The truth is that Orewa is reasonably flat for the most part and not so busy as to trouble a well-trained driver who sits either the restricted or full licence test.
But the important words here are:“practiced and prepared”. The driver testing test Area covers the normal 50km/hr low speed zones as
well as a 30km/hr, 60km/hr, 70km/hr and potentially 80km/hr as well
those wanting to pass their Restricted and Full driving tests.

Areas to be aware of are the 30Km/hr speed zone along Hibiscus Coast Highway in front of the township as well as the many
pedestrian crossings in and around the main Orewa township.
Drivers need to be aware of these crossings immediately as they will exit the test centre on Florence Avenue both to the East/ West
and remembering pedestrian access must be allowed on crossings at all times.
