What is tested in the NZ full licence test?+
The full licence test covers a broader range of driving scenarios than the restricted test, including open road driving, country roads, and more complex urban situations. You'll need to demonstrate hazard perception, safe following distances at higher speeds, and confident motorway driving.
How long must I hold a restricted licence before going for my full?+
At least 18 months on a restricted licence if you complete an approved defensive driving course, or 24 months without one.
What are the full licence passenger and nighttime restrictions?+
Once you have your full licence, all restrictions are lifted — you can carry any number of passengers and drive at any time.
Can I use Adrian's car for my full licence test?+
Yes. Car hire for the full licence test is $125. A pre-test lesson is required for first-time clients.
